I've been told I was born with a paintbrush in my hand. As a young child I would go house to house in my neighborhood and sell greeting cards and holiday posters. Art has been my love for as long as I can remember and I knew I would do something with art as I got older; so I became a teacher, who teaches art in the classroom. I have taught for 20 years in the Alpine School district. I taught kindergarten for 17 years and then moved with my kindergartners to 2nd grade. I have seen the importance the arts play in my classroom. By doing artful thinking on a daily basis in the classroom I have found that children pay better attention in all disciplines, they are happier and well rounded, they have a quality to their work and creative mindset that helps them throughout their school career and life. |
